Painted with underglazes and carved - hands (right) are empty as I threw a separate bowl & carved a Loon Mother with 3 chicks which would be attached later...
After the first firing (Cone 05), sections were finally stacked. Before this firing the unfired sculpture's total height was 74" h., or about 6' 2" - by final firing (Cone 6) the total height was 66", or 5' 6"...
